Home and Family

The words ‘home’ and ‘family’ are frequently used by people when they describe their experience at Compass. It encapsulates who we are; a place where people feel welcomed and at home as soon as they walk through our doors

God created us to have a relationship not only with Him but also solid, deep, caring friendships with others. In today’s world, many people feel disconnected, yet we’re not called to ‘do life’ on our own. We’re committed to helping people have a strong spiritual relationship with God while also building life-long bonds with others

God asks us to live by faith; in Him and in His word. Faith is believing in things hoped for, for those things unseen. God tells us that without faith it’s impossible to please Him, so it’s important that we speak words of faith and live a life of faith. It’s not always easy, but when we live in this space He gives us a hope and a future

Others Focused

It’s not always about us! We aim to live a life that’s not just centred around ourselves. Something that helps keep this in perspective, and provide true fulfilment, is when we serve others before ourselves. Jesus called us to love one another as we love ourselves, and to love our neighbour. We have a responsibility to love others whether they’re in our own backyard or in other parts of the globe

We believe that real success in life comes when we have a spirit of generosity in everything we do. The Bible teaches us the principle of sowing and reaping. We work towards being a community that sows generously in all we do without thought to what we get back

Being Real

We need to be real! That means living a life where we can be honest with ourselves, honest with God and honest with others about where we’re at – even when life gets hard. We need to be the real deal and recognise that we’re not perfect but we have a perfect God who is there to help us

The way we live and ‘do life’ needs to align with the word of God. So what does that look like? We are called to be people committed to living a life of honesty, integrity, loyalty, moral character, generosity, selflessness and being willing to serve. We’re committed to doing the best we can with what we’ve got, in every area of our lives; knowing that we are all a work in progress and certainly not perfect

We believe that the teachings of Jesus are just as relevant, powerful and life-changing today as they were over 2,000 years ago. Our presentation style is contemporary and the teachings of Jesus are presented in a way that people can easily understand and relate to, and can be applied in today’s society
